HANDS-ONLY CPR
During a vacation in 2022, two of our members were cooling off in the crystal-clear waters of West Bay, Roatan. When they looked back at the beach, they realized that a medical emergency was taking place. Our two members quickly assessed the situation. Neither resort staff nor bystanders possessed the ability to assess the patient or training in how to provide first aid. Our members provided hands only CPR and when the patient was taken to the medical clinic, they realized how lacking the island was in medical training and supplies. This experience became the start of Firefighters 4 Firefighters.
